This was an interesting post I found out jus a couple of dayz back... the way people interact with information has alwayz being the forefront of research, with the rising of database, pattern recognition and 3G networks....The video features work at MIT Media Lab by Fluid Research group . . This clip shows a product similar to surface by Jeff Han of Perceptive Pixel at Ted conference in 2006. Pretty similar technology as it appears, though it has some differences . .
Some interesting fact about multitouch are - the research began since 1982 at University of Toronto and Bell Labs. The product idea for Microsoft surface was first conceived in 2001 by Steven Bathiche and Andy Wilson at Microft, the product idea presented to Gates in 2003, surface unveiled to industry in May 2007 by Steve Ballmer at 'Wall Street Journals' 'D" All things digital conference and the first surface deployed to AT&T in April 17th 2008...
